BILL WYMAN'S RHYTHM KINGS
BACK IN THE UK
2011 TOUR
BILL WYMAN'S RHYTHM KINGS will embark on a UK tour this October, playing 36 theatres nationwide, through to December. A very special guest singer on the tour is soon to be announced.
Tickets are on sale at 9am on Friday 18th February.
Rock and roll icon, author, restaurateur and photographer - legendary former Rolling Stones bassist BILL WYMAN has seen it all and continues to live life to the full. For over thirty years he was part of the best rock n roll band in the world.
His latest musical rebirth, as the driving force behind the fabulous RHYTHM KINGS, sees him return to his musical roots. This set of virtuoso musicians superbly bring back to life the kind of classic rhythm and blues that first inspired Wyman to pick up the guitar as a teenager. A show imbued with absolute quality.
"The whole idea behind the band was to play music that we love and I think you can hear and feel that on our records. Playing live, doing gigs, means everybody in the band does it for the same reasons as I do; to have a good time and send the crowd home with smiles on their faces" says Wyman.
Having spent much of 2010 touring Europe, BILL WYMAN'S RHYTHM KINGS return to tour the UK this October. Joining Bill on his 36 date UK tour, are the legendary musicians;
Albert Lee, who's lightning-fast speed has earned him a reputation as the guitarist's guitarist, also known as Mr Telecaster.
Georgie Fame, rhythm and blues, jazz singer and keyboard player, who released hit records in the 60's such as: 'I Love My Dog','The Ballad of Bonnie','Clyde', 'Yeh Yeh', 'Get Away'
Frank Mead, saxophonist, has played alongside Blues legends BB King, Albert Collins, Jimmy Rogers and Otis Rush. He's appeared on records with the likes of Paul McCartney, Squeeze and Manfred Mann.
Geraint Watkins, the legendary Rock and Roll, Boogie and Blues pianist who has given his skills to some of the biggest names in music during his 30 year plus career on both piano and accordion. From Van Morrison, Carl Perkins to Sir Paul McCartney. He's Bob Dylan's favourite pianist.
Terry Taylor on guitar, ex Tuckey Buzzard and The Arrows, Terry has also performed with the legendary Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy and Junior Wells, amongst others.
Graham Broad, on drums, has worked with artists including Roger Waters, Tina Turner and The Beach Boys.
Nick Payn on sax, has performed with Lonnie Donegan, and The Gary Moore band, amongst many others.
Beverley Skeete, who has been the featured Vocalist with Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings since the band's formation in 1997 has also recorded with acts ranging from Robbie Williams to Elton John.
